Heritance hardwood
shutters can be ordered with either 2 ˝" or 3 ˝" elliptical
louvers. They feature effortless operation and the freedom to control light,
heat, noise, view and privacy. Three basic systems are available in both
framed and unframed configurations:
|
| Standard Hinged
Panel Systems
|
|
Standard panel systems can
consist of one or more shutter panels hinged in a variety of configurations.
Single panels can be individually hinged or two panels may be hinged together
in a bi-fold design.
|
| Bi-Fold Track
Systems
|
|
Bi-fold track systems allow up
to six panels to be hinged together. Panels are connected to a top track which
both supports the panels and guides their folding movements. Panels must be
hinged together in multiples of two.
|
A special bi-fold
frame is used with bi-fold track systems. The frame accommodates the track and
minimizes light leaks. The track may also be attached directly to the door or
window opening without a frame. A bottom floor track is recommended for all
bi-fold track systems.
|
| Bypass Track
Systems
|
|
Shutter panels in a bypass
track system are not hinged. Instead, they slide on top tracks to open and
close. Two tracks are required so that the panels can slide past each other.
The tracks can be attached to a track system frame or directly to the door or
window opening without a frame. Typically, in door openings, the frames are
three-sided, with floor guides.
|
|
There
are also a number of optional configurations offered within each of the above
systems to cover Café and double hung windows, bay and bow windows, and
French and patio doors.
|
| Café Style
Mounts
|
|
Café style shutters can be
inside or outside mounted, with either a three- or four-sided frame.
|
| Double Hung
Shutters
|
|
A double hung shutter consists
of two panels or groups of panels which are mounted separately, one above the
other, and can swing open separately.
There will be a 1/8" light gap between the top and bottom set of panels,
however a horizontal post may be used to stabilize panels and block out the
light coming through the panel gap.
|
| French Doors
|
|
A French door shutter consists
of a panel mounted to a four-sided mitered hang strip frame.
|
| Patio Door
Mounts
|
|
Patio doors and other
entrances are easily fitted by using a three-sided frame.
Most standard patio and entrance doors will require four bi-folding panels
with a divider rail in each. With the divider rail, the top and bottom
sections of each panel operate independently. Divider rails are mandatory for
added stability on patio doors.
Patio doors may also be fitted with bi-fold and bypass track systems.
